Let us nurture our minds to cultivate lasting peace and social cohesion.
Lasting peace begins with a community where every person feels heard, respected, and supported. Through the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support for Peace in the DRC (SMSPS) project, we place mental health at the heart of building peace, social cohesion, and community resilience.
We work with communities affected by crises and violence to strengthen their psychosocial well-being, prevent tensions, and foster dialogue, listening, and mutual understanding. Our interventions provide safe spaces where women, men, young people, and vulnerable individuals can express their concerns, regain confidence, and develop positive coping mechanisms.
Taking care of our mental health is also taking care of our community. By strengthening the capacities of community actors and encouraging solidarity, dialogue and mutual support, we contribute to building more resilient, peaceful and inclusive communities.
Our commitment
We believe that everyone has a role to play in building peace. Together, let us heal our minds, strengthen our bonds, and cultivate lasting peace in the DRC.
TALK, SHARE, MOVE FORWARD, TOGETHER

As part of the "Mental Health and Psychosocial Support for Peace in the DRC (SMSPS)" project, an activity to distribute agricultural tools was organized to support manual road maintenance and roadwork on axis 2, linking Kasanganyemba to Kinsunkulu.

This activity aims to strengthen community participation in road maintenance, improve its condition, and facilitate access to isolated communities. Manual road maintenance includes, in particular, upkeep of the roadside, shoulders, and drainage systems.
Providing the necessary tools allows beneficiary communities to actively participate in the work while contributing to strengthening social cohesion, resilience and peace within the communities.

Context :
The Democratic Republic of Congo has faced multifaceted crises for several decades, stemming from armed and ethnic conflicts. These crises have resulted in numerous deaths and traumas, to name just a few.
Tanganyika province has not been spared these atrocities; it faces persistent challenges related to the consequences of intercommunal conflicts, prolonged displacement, and recurring health emergencies. These factors have contributed to weakening social cohesion and increasing the psychosocial vulnerability of the population.
